Have you ever been the 13th spare wheel at a party? \u00c2\u00a0Do you know of anyone that has?<\/p>\n

Well, you do now.<\/p>\n

Yeah, I was that 13th spare wheel last night. \u00c2\u00a0Sometimes it sucks for single people to be the 3rd wheel or even the 5th wheel. \u00c2\u00a0And it really, really sucks to be the 13th spare wheel.<\/p>\n

Welcome to my life. \u00c2\u00a0You would think that I’d be used to it by now, right? \u00c2\u00a0I mean, I’m no spring chicken, am I?<\/p>\n

Last night my coworker had a BBQ and invited people from work and their spouses. \u00c2\u00a0About halfway through the night I realized that I was the only single person there. \u00c2\u00a0And I was on the older end of the age spectrum. \u00c2\u00a0Just one guy was older than me.<\/p>\n

It’s interesting that I didn’t think about it at first, isn’t it? \u00c2\u00a0But, as the night progressed, we started playing games and it was evident.<\/p>\n

We split into two teams: \u00c2\u00a0women vs. men. \u00c2\u00a0Of course, I threw the count off — the women’s team had one more people.<\/p>\n

Sort of causes a minor issue when you play by rounds and each person takes a turn. \u00c2\u00a0Then, it gets annoying when people say things like, “yeah, but you have more people on your team!” \u00c2\u00a0Gosh, sorry to screw things up everyone.<\/p>\n

I suppose I shouldn’t complain too much. \u00c2\u00a0I mean, it’s a personal choice, right? \u00c2\u00a0I choose not to go out and date, I chose to break up with my boyfriend, and I choose to live a single life right now.<\/p>\n

So, are you asking why I am complaining? \u00c2\u00a0Yeah, I don’t know why.<\/p>\n

But you know what? \u00c2\u00a0I have my glass of red wine and it’s all good.<\/p>\n
