{"id":11,"date":"2011-03-24T03:02:12","date_gmt":"2011-03-24T03:02:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.motebu.com\/?p=11"},"modified":"2011-03-24T03:48:47","modified_gmt":"2011-03-24T03:48:47","slug":"pc-galore","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.motebu.com\/?p=11","title":{"rendered":"PC Galore"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My first day of work was really awesome (it was last Monday the 14th, I&#8217;m behind in my posts).<\/p>\n<p>I got a PC laptop + monitor\u00c2\u00a0<em>and <\/em>a Blackberry. \u00c2\u00a0I have to admit, I was really excited because I&#8217;ve never had a job that&#8217;s provided me with my own laptop and Blackberry. \u00c2\u00a0I had an orientation meeting and my new manager, TM, took me around the office, from cubicle to cubicle, and introduced me to everyone I needed to know, and then some.<\/p>\n<p>As I mentioned before, I was secretly excited about getting a Blackberry but I kept my enthusiasm under wraps, waited til the end of the day to open the box, and just acted like I expected all of it since everyone gets things like that in the corporate world. \u00c2\u00a0Mind you, I was excited specifically about <em>getting<\/em> the Blackberry, not the actual Blackberry, itself. \u00c2\u00a0The principle of it.<\/p>\n<p>How does Blackberry stay in business? \u00c2\u00a0They gave me a Curve and it <em>sucks.<\/em> My first smart phone was the iPhone 3G and I got it right before I started business school in 2008. \u00c2\u00a0I upgraded to a 4 last December. \u00c2\u00a0Although there are things I dislike about it, it&#8217;s still super awesome in other ways and I can officially and rightfully say that the Blackberry certainly is crappy. \u00c2\u00a0Everything about it. \u00c2\u00a0The keys, the screen, the layout, the appearance. \u00c2\u00a0I don&#8217;t like it, I don&#8217;t know how to use it and fumble with it all the time. \u00c2\u00a0As of now, I only have the email set up &#8212; no numbers or anything else. \u00c2\u00a0I think I got one mistake text last week and that&#8217;s all for the texts. \u00c2\u00a0God, I can&#8217;t imagine having to text back and forth with someone on that stupid Blackberry and plastic keys. \u00c2\u00a0And, I suppose I should eventually program my group&#8217;s names and numbers in it. \u00c2\u00a0I can&#8217;t even remember my own phone number.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.motebu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0802.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-12\" title=\"IMG_0802\" src=\"http:\/\/www.motebu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0802-223x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"223\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.motebu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0802-223x300.jpg 223w, http:\/\/www.motebu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0802-764x1024.jpg 764w, http:\/\/www.motebu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0802.jpg 1935w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 223px) 100vw, 223px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Also before business school, I starting using Macs again and got a Macbook Pro (it&#8217;s a little old now, though). \u00c2\u00a0Switching back to a PC has been a little awkward &#8212; I&#8217;m getting familiar again with it all. \u00c2\u00a0I&#8217;ve been getting reacquainted with Internet Explorer, too, because <em>none<\/em> of my company&#8217;s intranet sites work on any other browser. \u00c2\u00a0ARGH. \u00c2\u00a0It keeps closing unexpectedly. \u00c2\u00a0Typical.<\/p>\n<p>I guess I&#8217;ll be a switch hitter: \u00c2\u00a0Mac at home, PC at work:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.motebu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0801.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-13\" title=\"IMG_0801\" src=\"http:\/\/www.motebu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0801-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.motebu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0801-300x224.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.motebu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/IMG_0801-1024x764.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My first day of work was really awesome (it was last Monday the 14th, I&#8217;m behind in my posts).
